car is one of the best. This Highboy features a high-quality
all-steel Brookville body that has been enhanced by a Rootlieb
steel hood with 216 louvers and a filled radiator shell with custom
stainless-steel spear. Finished beautifully in a deep 1940 Ford
Maroon color, other quality touches include spun brass headlights,
'39 Ford taillights from Bob Drake and a 2-inch chopped top with
Rod Top removable roof. The interior is trimmed in buckskin
colored, rolled-and-pleated Naugahyde with Euro-style square weave
carpet. A Ron Francis Bare Bonz wiring kit is linked to a set of
Classic Instruments gauges. Other interior features include a
Ididit steering column topped with a 15-inch '40 Ford-type LeCarra
steering wheel and a Rostra cruise control concealed under the
dash.
Pete & Jakes fabricated an all chrome and polished stainless-steel
chassis that features a boxed frame, drilled and dropped chromed
Super Bell I-beam axle, Poises front and rear springs, Wilwood
front disc brakes and much more. The chassis rolls on P.S.
Engineering polished kidney bean wheels, 6 x 15-inch front and 8 x
16-inch rear.

Powering this Highboy is a Crate Chevy 383 engine linked to a
Tremec TKO-500 5-speed transmission. The engine features GM fast
burn aluminum heads, Edelbrock 2 4-barrel intake and carburetors,
Edelbrock finned valve covers with Moon breathers, Edelbrock water
pump, Sanderson headers and MSD ignition. The engine is rated at an
impressive 425 horsepower from Pace Performance. Power is sent back
through an aluminum driveshaft to Winters quick change rear end
with custom aluminum end cover trim. A binder with a complete list
of part numbers of all the parts used in the build, instructions,
notes and build photos accompanies this amazing car.
