For Sale: 1965 Chevrolet El Camino in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

Only 5,600 mi on a complete body off frame restoration. I bought this from a very fussy collector, his cars are dialed in. He's the one they put the miles on it and assured me you could hop in it and take it anywhere.

EXTERIOR: The body is mint! It's straight, fits right and has no rust or damage. The restorer preferred the 64 grill. Painted a slick red, polished like a mirror. The chrome and trim sparkles. New windshield, new weatherstrips. Sitting on a set of 15 inch Torque Thrust wheels.

INTERIOR: Professionally done, comfortable and real good looking custom interior. It's completely upholstered including behind the seats and the headliner. The seats and door panels have a diamond pattern, red stitching was used throughout. Very comfortable bucket seats, 6 way power driver side. Custom console with cup holders. The dash area restored and updated with modern gauges. It has a retro stereo with speakers and amp behind the seats.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It's an LS 5.3 liter motor upgraded with a Corvette intake and a set of headers. Remote oil filter for easier oil changes. It runs great on 87 octane! All the components are clean and proper, it's a very nice installation. Features include air conditioning, power steering and dual reservoir master cylinder. An aluminum radiator with an electric fan keeps it running cool. The metal is painted slick, it has a smooth firewall.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Nice looking lightweight tonneau cover lifts open with gas struts. The tailgate functions flawlessly. Inside is mint, painted gloss red.

UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame for a complete restoration. All the front end steering and suspension still looks new. It is upgraded with air shocks in the back. New brake system, disc at all four wheels and an e-brake. Fuel tank was replaced and a Corvette fuel pump. Clean installation of a dual exhaust. Looking up at the motor it has a custom oil pan painted Chevy Orange and a high torque starter. The transmission is upgraded with a 700R-4 overdrive automatic. New 3.36 posi ring and pinion. The floors, rockers and braces are dry clean metal. It was prepped and painted in the factory red oxide primer. The chassis was reinstalled with new body bushings and it's all painted black.

SERVICE: We inspected this car and it flew through the shop with flying colors. I told you we bought it from a very fussy collector, it literally needed nothing.

Truly ready for show and go. It's reliable and comfortable, you will want to use it. Car show this Sunday? It's ready for that too.
