Engine & Drivetrain
Our 1971 Corvette Stingray has the iconic and correct numbers
matching correct engine code CPJ 454 cubic inch LS5 engine that has
365 horsepower with its Rochester four-barrel carburetor, a Turbo
400 3-speed automatic transmission, that looks and sounds as it did
from the factory.
It is nicely detailed with correct Chevy Orange paint on the block,
the original air cleaner with chrome lid, great looking plugs,
wires, and hoses, chrome valve covers, Four Wheel Disc Brakes, air
conditioning, and more sitting in a period correct, painted, and
detailed engine compartment.
It is by far the most tractable big-engine Corvette ever made and
it idles smoothly with the automatic transmission in drive, but
from outside the car there's still that rumble to let any and all
know this is a big block.
The dual exhausts emit a nice note and the gearing assures restful
freeway cruising. It also assures acceleration times with a top
speed of over 130 mph.
It rides on Rally wheels wears raised white letter Turbo Action
Radial GT tires and the fully-independent sports suspension rides
and tracks well.
Interior
The original color #417 Saddle Tan interior (confirmed by the Trim
Tag) is in excellent condition, the T-tops never go out of style,
the tan carpets are great, as are the door panels.
It has AM/FM Delco Radio, fiber-optic bulb indicators in the
console, a 3-speed automatic shifter in the center console, factory
Corvette steering wheel, dual pod speedometer/tachometer with a
full gauge package, and seatbelts.
Exterior
Our 1971 Corvette comes painted in #983 Brands Hatch Green paint
and looks great from all angles with its long, low hood, great
chrome and trim, shark-like front bumper, two-piece rear bumper,
rocker panels, window trim, and fender grilles.
The entire car, body, engine, interior, chrome trim, 454 badging,
big block hood, dual chrome exhaust tips, and chrome luggage rack
looks as new!
