For Sale: 1974 BMW 2002TII in Pasadena, California

Vehicle Description

Details

This 1974 BMW 2002tii shows 54,560 miles on the odometer; although the total mileage is unknown, it was slowly restored over the course of ten years by the previous owner, a German technician. It is powered by a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine that sends power to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. The car is finished in Verona Red over black Recaro leather seats. This 2002tii also features front disc brakes, Ansa muffler, upgraded Rota wheels, Bilstein shocks, AST lowering springs, ST sway bars, LED headlights and European style taillights. Currently the car is located in California.

This BMW’s condition is documented well by the photos provided. The car’s lengthy restoration shows up in the quality of the condition. The Verona Red paint shows deep and clean across a straight body. The interior is clean and fresh with only minor blemishes. The owner states that there are minor cracks in the dash and a small tear on the driver’s headrest. In addition the radio and speakers have been removed but the wiring is still intact if the next owner chooses to install one. The fuel-injected 2.0 liter engine runs as it should and the car is reported to be in good mechanical condition.

This BMW 2002tii is a verified listing being sold by Gerhard Ohanian at Heritage Gruppe in California.

About the model

The BMW 2002tii Coupe was a variant of the BMW 2002 that debuted for the 1972 model year. The 2002tii replaced the BMW 2002ti as the most potent 02 Series car offered and was equipped with BMW's M15 engine. The M15 engine, which was also known as the tii engine, was a 2.0L inline-four that had an output of 130hp and was fitted with mechanical fuel injection. This engine was sold as standard with a 4-speed manual transmission, but a 5-speed manual was available as an option, with both transmissions sending drive to the rear wheels. Production of the BMW 2002tii Coupe ended in 1975, with a total of 38,703 examples built.
