For Sale: 1970 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 in Winfield, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

1970 Oldsmobile442W-30 Holiday coupe was purchased new at Walter's Oldsmobile in Lewisburg Pa. on 11-69 with the W-30 options. Owner bought car for the purpose of drag racing at local drag strips and therefore never registered for highway use until 1995. The car was trailered to races for the first 26 years of ownership thus showing only 28,000 miles on odometer. Have a few pictures given to me showing it racing in the day. After he quit racing he had the car repainted back to it's original color because of the lettering painted on it. The car was drove very little from 1995 till 2018 when I purchased it and was always garage kept. Interior is all original and in very good condition showing no signs of wear and tear. All interior gauges and lights etc. are in working condition . I purchased the car for the purpose of restoring it back to it's originality. Some of the pieces in the engine bay were missing or weren't original like water hoses, clamps, plugwires etc.. Stephen Minore who is an expert on these cars showed me all the things I needed to know to make it correct. Undercarraige showed no signs of rust and only needed to be cleaned and some painting done.I knew the original owner most of my life and lives very close to me and with him being in his upper 80's decided to part with it. I pulled the motor  and had it torn down and inspected and reassembled with all new gaskets and seals which shows no signs of any leaking fluids. Engine builder told me it was bored ..040 over and has forged pistons . The block is not original as it was damaged early while racing and was replaced with a 1968 block but still has the original F-style heads and the W-30 manifold ,carb. is not original and not sure about distributor? After engine was reassembled it was run on his dyno. Also replaced was p.v.c. valve ,distributor cap and new water pump. Picture of dyno sheet shows 412H.P. with 518 ft. # torque. The transmission was removed and and checked out with new filter installed. Transmission was also replaced same time as motor as the numbers match. Engine bay was cleaned and repainted while engine was out. All items on suspension showing wear were replaced including shocks, sway bar links, u-joints. Differential gears were checked out and has 3.42:1 ratio with axle tube showing TO marking which is W-30 specific. Also new B.F. Goodrich tires from Coker with 14" fronts and 15" rears . W-30 package included dual scoop fiberglass hood, rear wing, power steering, power front disc brakes, rallye wheels, sport style steering wheel, Hurst dual gate shifter, A.M. radio, sport style mirrors with driver remote adjustable. Includes protecto-plate, manufactures literature, recent dyno sheet, newspaper clippings, drag-racing time slip, clean Pa. title in owners name and some spare engine parts. Car is in excellent working condition.
