Gateway Classic Cars Milwaukee is excited to present this 1978
Pontiac Trans Am. The Firebird was produced from 1967-2002. Pontiac
first introduced the first "Trans Am "which consisted of an
optional handling package in 1969. A limited number were made
including 689 hardtops and 8 convertibles that year. This 1978
second generation Trans Am was built from 1970-1981. By 1977 the
shaker hood scoop was revised, and four rectangular headlamps
dominated the front end. The 1978 Trans Am received new graphics
and a redesigned interior. Due to popular movie "Smokey and the
Bandit" in 1977, the Trans Am continued to be hot seller with over
90,000 units sold. This 1978 Pontiac Trans Am is painted in Mayan
Red with a gold/ black graphic package. A set of factory gold
insert "Snowflake" wheels complete the exterior Trans Am package.
The black vinyl interior includes updated 134 air conditioning,
tilt steering wheel, and an AM/FM 8-track radio. Under the hood is
a Z-L78 6.6, 400c.i.d, 4bbl V-8 attached to a three-speed automatic
transmission. Other features include power steering and power front
disk brakes.
