1977 was the last year for this Chevrolet El Camino and GMC Sprint
body design before a major downsizing for the 1978 model year. 1977
was also the last year GMC used the Sprint name before rebranding
it the Caballero the following year. This great looking 1977 GMC
Sprint represents the last of an era of style and substance of the
El Camino and Sprint. The Sprint was always produced in small
numbers, and the 1977 model year was no different. A total of
54,341 El Caminos were produced that year. Contrastingly, only
5,955 GMC Sprints were made, making them a rare and desirable car
to own today.
This rare GMC Sprint really stands out from the rest with a host of
upgrades and improvements. The bright red finish of the paint is
highlighted with a cowl induction hood, bright trim, shiny bumpers
and a set of 15-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels wrapped with beefy
245/60R15 tires.
Inside the cabin is decked out with factory swivel bucket seats and
door panels done in a red cloth with white vinyl and surrounding
red piping. The center console houses a B & M ratchet shifter with
the 3 toggle switches for startup. Gauges for RPM, voltage, oil
pressure and water tempurature are also found in that center
console. A Pioneer stereo with Bluetooth is paired with two
speakers mounted in the kick panels. Additionally, there is a tilt
steering column topped with a factory-style 4-spoke Sport Steering
Wheel with a "Sprint" horn button.
