The air-cooled Porsche 911 Turbo has always possessed a
near-mythical status - a raw, potent beast representing the
undiluted soul of performance driving. The 1996 993 Turbo
epitomizes this legacy, a refined icon showcasing unmatched
technology and the visceral thrills that define Porsche
mastery.
At its core beats a force of nature. A 3.6-liter, twin-turbocharged
flat-six unleashes 408 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. Those
numbers might seem almost civilized today, but remember, this was
in 1996; supercars cowered before the 993 Turbo's might. This isn't
just about brute force; the 993 Turbo utilizes an innovative
all-wheel-drive system descended from the legendary 959, channeling
its energy with breathtaking efficiency.
Numbers tell only part of the story. Nail the throttle, and the 993
Turbo surges forward with the ferocity of a precision missile. Its
symphony of whines, whistles, and the deep-chested growl of the
flat-six will send shivers down your spine. 0-60 mph arrives in a
fleeting 3.7 seconds, onwards to a 180+ mph top speed. It's not

The 993 Turbo wasn't a stripped-down track weapon, however. This
example boasts creature comforts like an electric sunroof, cruise
control, and a classic Becker sound system with a CD changer -
reminders that it's equally at home carving canyon roads as it is

Beyond the performance, the 993 Turbo embodies the ultimate
evolution of the classic air-cooled 911. Its aggressive stance,
sculpted widebody, sitting on instantly recognizable Ruf 18-inch
wheels refinished in Canepa's Magnesium graphite coating and
wrapped in new Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S rubber [front - 235/40 ZR18
|rear - 295/30 ZR18].
Porsche's 993 Turbo generation saw itself become the most refined
air-cooled sports car Porsche had ever produced. With its superior
build quality, stupendous performance, and dynamic driving
experience, it was the perfect sports car for every occasion.
Comfortable for daily driving and enough performance to leave
others in the dust, this duality of the 911 Turbo is what earned
its status as one of the best sports cars, bar none.
Upon arriving at Canepa, vehicles are treated to the "Canepa
Difference" This includes a complete mechanical inspection.
Everything is serviced as needed and road-tested by Bruce Canepa.
It is finished off with a Concours quality detail. The undersides
and wheel wells are hand cleaned, ensuring that each surface is
spotless. The trunk, interior, and engine bay are also cleaned,
ensuring that the 993 Turbo is presented as though it had just
rolled out of the factory. With the remaining step being the
exterior, the finish is polished and waxed to "as new" finish.
