This 1968 Chevelle SS396, according to its VIN number, is authentic
big block SS car. The factory R code color of Matador Red looks
deep and glossy, and black vinyl top with factory-style optional
accent stripes contrast well on this classic muscle car. The twin
bumps on the hood, blacked out grill and tail panel let others know
this car is one of Chevrolet's legendary big block Chevelles.
The exterior of this classic is stock in appearance, but with more
attitude thanks to a set of polished American Racing wheels
staggered 17-inches in front and 18-inches in the rear wrapped in
Bridgestone Pontenza tires (front: 245/45R17, rear: 275/40R18).
There is also a matching American Racing wheel spare in the
trunk.
The Jet-Black interior features factory bucket seats, factory
console with horseshoe shifter and the original SS steering wheel.
Additionally, an Autometer tachometer, as well as temperature, oil
pressure and volt meter have been added to monitor engine
functions. A retro style AM/FM radio with AUX port provides music
for cruising.

Lifting the twin-bump SS hood reveals a very clean engine bay that
is color coordinated to match the exterior paint color. A powerful
big bock engine, upgraded to 454 cubic inches, is mated to a TH400
automatic transmission that delivers power back to a 12-bolt rear
end. The engine features a Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold,
Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, chrome valve covers, MSD ignition
system, power steering, chrome open element air cleaner and a
chrome alternator and bracket. A set of long tube Hooker headers
exit through a deep and healthy-sounding glass pack dual exhaust.
Front power disc brakes help bring this powerful machine to a stop
safely. The original owner's manual comes with the car also.
