For Sale: 1963 International Harvester Scout in Orlando, Florida

Vehicle Description

This 1963 International Harvester Scout 80 was refinished in metallic orange over black and brown vinyl upholstery under prior ownership, and work reported since the seller’s acquisition in 2021 included resealing the 152ci inline-four and the axles, overhauling the four-wheel drum brakes, and replacing the shocks, clutch, U-joints, and the powertrain mounts. Equipment includes a three-speed manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, a black-finished removable hardtop, Dick Cepek 16″ wheels, a lift kit, and AutoMeter gauges. This Scout 80 is now offered with an ignition key and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.

The truck was repainted metallic orange under previous ownership and is equipped with a black-finished removable hardtop, black bumpers, a fold-down windshield, dual side mirrors, sliding side windows, and a fold-down tailgate. No door lock keys are present. Close-up photos of a blemish on the passenger rocker panel, cracks in the taillight lenses, wear on the tailgate latch, and damage on the left rear quarter panel are presented in the gallery below.

Dick Cepek DC-2 16″ wheels with machined faces are mounted with 285/75 GT Radial Adventuro M/T tires. Manually locking front hubs are fitted, and the suspension is equipped with a lift kit. The front and rear shocks were reportedly replaced in 2023. Braking is handled by four-wheel drums, and work since January 2023 is said to have included replacing the master cylinder, drums, and shoes as well as flushing the brake fluid and refurbishing the parking brake.

The cab features a bench seat upholstered in black vinyl with brown inserts complemented by body-color door panels and black bedliner material on the floors.

The four-spoke steering wheel has cracks and lacks a horn button. The body-color dashboard contains an 80-mph speedometer, a coolant temperature gauge, and an inaccurate fuel level gauge, while aftermarket AutoMeter gauges mounted beneath the dash include an 8k-rpm tachometer and gauges for coolant temperature and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 59k miles, approximately 50 of which were added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.

The rear cargo area is finished in black bedliner material.

The 152ci inline-four features an orange-painted engine block and valve cover. Service since January 2023 reportedly included rebuilding the carburetor and fuel/vacuum pump, changing the oil and coolant, and replacing the following components:

  • Engine seals
  • Fuel level sending unit
  • Fuel filter and hose
  • Engine and transmission mounts
  • Water pump, thermostat, and radiator hose
  • Distributor cap
  • Spark plugs

Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Work since January 2023 is said to have included replacing the clutch, universal joints, front axle and pinion seals, rear axle bearing, and rear axle seal. Corrosion is visible on the exhaust, and additional underside photos are available in the gallery.
