Engine & Drivetrain
The 389 cubic inch WS code V8 engine is equipped with set of
Pontiac's famous Tri-Power carbs with three separate chrome air
filters, with its Pontiac blue painted block, heads, and intake,
cast iron exhaust headers, power steering and brakes, air
conditioning, with all the other factory appearing stock engine
parts and hoses and still looks just as it did when it left the
showroom.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission
and 10-bolt rear axle. It rides on correct Rally wheels and black
sidewall tires for the period correct look too.
Interior
The factory twin front bucket seats are trimmed in black vinyl with
matching rear seat, carpets and door panels, black dash pad and
woodgrain dash veneer. Equipment includes air conditioning, a
center console with chrome trim, a pushbutton radio, as well as a
floor mounted 5-speed shifter is mounted in the floor console and
it retains the Pontiac GTO sports wood steering wheel and dash
trim, and GTO floor mats too.
Exterior
Our GTO has a slick red paint job over the Pontiac styling elements
of these 1966 GTO's including the sleek bottle-shaped body with
louvered taillight covers, bumper-mounted reverse lights, chrome
bumpers, and the iconic GTO hood scoop.
Handling is great as you could expect from these GTO's with
power-assisted steering and brakes that were optioned from the
factory.
