The third Mercedes-Benz to wear the "SL" badge, the W113 generation SL-Class was show to the public in the summer of 1963. The new 230 SL was engineered to get closer to the performance of the racing-derived 300 SL in comparison to the attractive but somewhat tepid-performing 190 SL, but still offer the comfort and safety buyers desired. A fuel-injected 2.3L Inline-6, later enlarged to 2.5L and, eventually, 2.8L, proved more than adequate for the task. Coupled with iconic styling and a unique, slightly concave “Pagoda” hardtop, the W113 SL quickly won the hearts of period celebrities.

As always, Mercedes engineers strove to improve the car. In December 1967, the 280 SL replaced the 250 SL. Its upgraded engine promised increased performance, while interior appointments were finer than ever. While most were equipped with a 4-speed automatic, a manual transmission was still offered for those who wished for a comfortable sports car versus a sporty cruiser. These cars have become increasingly desirable over the years, with values of high-quality examples growing dramatically. Between this and their endlessly enjoyable driving experience, W113 SL-Classes are superb vehicles for any discerning collector or enthusiast.

Offered in Silver Metallic over Red, this incredible, fully restored 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Roadster features a factory four-speed manual transmission, under-dash air conditioning, and both a removable hardtop and folding soft top. Not many Americans desired the sportier manual transmission option on their 280 SLs, with most preferring the automatic's grand touring smoothness over the ability to row their own gears - reportedly only 25% of 280 SL production was ordered with a manual. Therefore, this Mercedes is a superb choice whether it is to be shown or driven by discerning collectors, investors, or enthusiasts who appreciate the investment potential of this fabulous German classic.
