Vehicle Description
2000 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe
Corvette didn't always call Kentucky home, however, in 1953 the
first 300 were built by hand in Flint, Michigan, just after General
Motors unveiled the Corvette as a "dream car" in the Motorama show
in New York's Waldorf Astoria hotel. The following year, production
moved to St. Louis. In June of 1981, Corvette production
transferred from St. Louis to Bowling Green, Kentucky. GM began
production of the esteemed Corvette in Bowling Green in 1981, and
the facility has remained the exclusive home of the Corvette for
over 40 years. Known around the world as America's sports car, the
Corvette exemplifies the definition of innovation.
For consignment, a 2000 Corvette coupe. This example will give you
a car that is ready to be enjoyed without the worry of racking up
miles or obtaining a stone chip on a super low mileage version. It
has had 2 owners, a Vortex cold air intake and Corsa exhaust. New
Comp T/A tires wrap around drilled and slotted rotors. So now
buckle up, let's make your friends and neighbors Magnetic Red with
envy!
Exterior
A beautiful chrome-less front clip leads the way for the Magnetic
Red fiberglass draped over the high-performance chassis of this
car. Hidden headlights and integrated bumpers provide the aero
package that can whisk you down the highway with just a touch of
the throttle. A see-through smoked glass roof that is removable,
and large greenhouse, (it's a gas!), rear glass are seen for the
roofline. This style Corvette wins the award for best rear styling
with the round embedded tail lights, and the quad exhaust piercing
out the center of the integrated rear bumper. Chrome laden thin 5
spoke polished cast alloy wheels in 17 and 18-inch format are
wrapped in staggered width radials on the 4 corners and show slight
curbing on the edges.
Interior
Sporty Light Oak colored leather buckets grab you as you take a
seat inside the cockpit. Black door panel uppers, with nearly every
power control one could want border these buckets. A Light Oak
lower molded plastic with a large built in Bose speaker is under
the curved pull handle/power toggle panel on each door. The leather
for seats is in good condition with some wrinkles, a very small
area of wear off on the driver's outer bolster, and slight areas of
aging but far from terrible. A heads-up display, along with cruise
control, a power memory seat, power telescoping steering wheel all
wrapped up in a curved dash that presents very cleanly and harkens
back to the early 60's 'Vette dash designs. More black accenting
bezels have been added around the gauge cluster as well as the
center pillar with digital climate control and a factory
AM/FM/Cassette player. The black bezel accenting continues to flow
down to the console and around the ashtray and leather booted
carbon fiber topped and bolted shifter. Tan carpet floods the
floors and is in very nice condition.
Drivetrain
A well manicured 350hp 5.7 Liter LS1 V8 is seen with a front flip
of the hood. This has EFI, a Vortex cold air intake, and a 4L60E
4-speed manual transmission attached to the back. The 2.73 tire
spinning limited slip rear axle configuration is on to handle the
power this active mill produces.
Undercarriage
Fairly clean with some road dirt sums it up underneath with most
things looking very close to showroom, but sporting a touch of
patina from just plain old enjoying this fine sports car. C5 fully
independent suspension is seen both front and back as are 4-wheel
power disc brakes. A Corsa cat back dual exhaust runs rearward from
the mill and ends in a 4-some of bell shaped chrome exhaust
tips.
Drive-Ability
An extremely quick starter, and runner. This LS1 V8 can push this
car very quickly up to speed, and due to the comfortable interior,
it is hard to tell exactly how fast you are really traveling.
Overall, a good driving experience, and smooth shifting for the
4-speed automatic. All the power options were functional, and the
factory stereo sounds fab!
This was played with then nicely put away in a garage, well
maintained, and is just a fun car to drive. Nothing like being low
to the ground and taking a corner like it is not even there...wild!
And all in the creature comforts of home.
