For Sale: 1970 Chevrolet Corvette in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

#s match throughout. Heavily documented! Original window sticker, order form, paid invoice, car shipper form, NCRS shipping data report and more. Body off frame restoration with hundreds of pictures of the process including before pics. The legendary LT-1: It has been said it wouldn't be fair to compare it to other small blocks, it is in the league of high-performance big blocks and it weighs less. Only 1,287 LT-1s were built total, in 1970. This was also the year with the highest horsepower making it the most desirable. The LT-1 option had a hefty price tag of $448 compared to a big block that only cost $289.

EXTERIOR: The body was off the frame and stripped down. Plenty of pictures show the process, no surprises. It is straight and fits right. The LT-1 comes with a raised hood. The T-tops easily come off and store behind the seats. The rear window even pops out and has a storage compartment in back. Repainted its original Monza red color. It presents itself really well, smooth and glossy. There are imperfections that you would need to look for. The LT-1 is the only one that comes with pin stripe on the hood. 15x8 Corvette rally wheels have shiny trim. BFG tires look like new. All the chrome and trim shows really well. Correct antenna. Windshield is crystal clear. Weatherstrips were replaced. The weather shields are still behind the grill that protect the headlights.

INTERIOR: Overall very nice. The seats are re-cushioned and upholstered. Door panels have been replaced. Carpet front to back was replaced, it has reproduction floor mats. Very good original dash pad. Clean gauges have a correct 6,500 redline tachometer for an LT-1. Clock is upgraded with quartz movement. The factory Am-Fm is still in place. Clean original console still has 370 hp engine specs emblem. Correct reverse lockout shifter. It has an optional tilt-telescopic wheel. Interior lights work.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Original vin # matching 350-370 hp motor. These used a 4-bolt main block, forged crank, TRW pistons, 202 heads, hotter cam with solid lifters and high compression. Original components including aluminum intake and # matching Holley carb. It does have an upgraded MSD ignition box that's been relocated to under the dash. Correct air cleaner, finned valve covers, upper and lower ignition shielding and deep groove pulleys. The motor was completely rebuilt about 5,000 miles ago to LT-1 specs. It features power steering and brakes. All the components look clean and proper.

UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame so the entire chassis could be restored. The entire suspension and steering were rebuilt. It has independent suspension front and back. 4-wheel disc brakes, the system was restored. E-brake assembly is hooked up. Correct dual exhaust with square tips going through the valance. Bottom of the motor is clean; a new high torque starter is installed and the fuel pump is clean. # matching M-21 close ratio Muncie 4-speed with a new pressure plate and flywheel recently installed. Rebuilt driveshaft with factory paint markings. Correct 3.70 posi rear dated properly to this car. Fiberglass floors are clean, and the spare tire carrier is complete.

This is the right car. Corvette collectors love documentation and this one's got it! The 70 LT-1 Corvette is legendary, that is literally the word used to describe these cars in several published articles. As close to a guaranteed investment as you will find. Plus, it's an amazing car to enjoy!

One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum.
