For Sale: 1972 Chevrolet Nova in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

Only 37 Yenko Nova big blocks were made and 6 survive. This is a clone of the one that sold for $522,500 back in 2012! I acquired this from the man that owned it since 1995. He finished the ground up restoration in 2011. He said you can drive it anywhere; his longest trip was 500 miles.

EXTERIOR: The body is exceptional, done 12 years ago and still looks great. It lines up square and flush. It's straight with no rust or damage. Painted beautiful Rally Green, the metal flake is laid out evenly and the clear coat is polished very smooth and glossy. It does have some stone chips down low. It has the Yenko striping and badges. It has SS grills on the hood and the blacked out tail panel. All the chrome and stainless trim looks really sharp. Vinyl top looks like new. 15 inch American Racing wheels with BFG tires.

INTERIOR: It's restored inside just like a Yenko would have looked. The seat upholstery, door panels, armrests, headliner, and carpet were all replaced. It has the Super Yenko Coupe initials on the headrest. Vintage style tachometer on the column and Stuart Warner gauges down below the dash. I love the white vintage t-handle shifter. The dash area is very clean, it has a radio delete plate. Complete set of original seat belts.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Genuine 1969 427 motor with the desirable 512 casting and high performance cast on the block. It was completely rebuilt, bored, has a Thumper cam. 10.5:1 compression, it will run on pump gas. On top is an aluminum GM intake with a dual feed Holley carb, upgraded MSD ignition system and it has a set of long tube headers. Features include power steering and power brakes. It has reproduction hoses, clamps, radiator, cap, and shroud. There is also an auxiliary electric fan in front. It has a Delco battery topper with spring clamp cables. Overall, it looks very nice, tidy, and complete. It has hood insulation, squirters are hooked up, Yenko sticker on the valve cover etc.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and jamb are painted real slick. Inside is rust free clean metal painted black. It has a reproduction mat, weatherstrip, stickers and seat insulation.

UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame; every component was removed from under this car. The entire suspension and steering were completely rebuilt. The brake system was 100% restored. It has disc in front, drum in back. New e-brake cables and stainless lines. The fuel system was completely replaced. It has a great sounding Flowmaster dual exhaust system. Looking up at the motor it is still fresh Chevy Orange. It has a rebuilt M-20 Muncie 4-speed with a Center Force clutch and aluminum flywheel. In back is a rebuilt 12 bolt rear end with 3.73 posi gears. The floors, frame rails and rockers are dry clean metal painted semi gloss black.

SERVICE: We inspected the car and spent $2,440 on repairs. We replaced the lock cylinders, door handle rod and bell crank. We replaced the regulator, voltage gauge and battery. We repaired the blower motor and reverse lights, installed rear window channel runs and replaced the brake booster.

This is a cool car. I love the looks and the sound is awesome! Typically, these have a 454 from the late 70s or 80s, this one actually has a 1969 427 which is cool too. Just get in and enjoy shifting those gears and making that exhaust growl.

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year membership.
