These cars are built on custom shortened, reconditioned VW chassis with a reinforced steel sub frame. The car is actually titled as a 1966 Volkswagen utilizing the vin number of the VW pan used. The hand laid fiberglass body is top quality and workmanship is second to none. We had this beauty built for our inventory and chose an authentic Special order Porsche 356 color combination. It is absolutely stunning. The fit and finish most likely exceeds the original.. The body is adorned with Porsche badging on the nose, rear and dash. Paint and body are essentially flawless. This one has the Gt Louvered deck lid, driving lights, and amber/red European tear drop taillights. I always recommend driving these cars top down but of course it also has a brand new tan canvas soft top. Window inserts are also provided and a matching boot cover when the top is down for a clean, sophisticated look.
Complementing the Auratium Green exterior is an equally stunning Buck colored leather interior. The Speedster seats are very comfortable.. Matching dash pad and passenger side grab handle. Period correct VDO gauges with a digital odometer allow the driver to monitor the speed and performance of this air cooled Speedster. Beautiful woodgrain steering wheel with a vintage style turn signal lever adds to the authenticity. This 356 is also optioned with heated seats for both driver and passenger for those of you in cooler climates. This one has the Retrosound Bluetooth stereo. Shelf pad behind the front seats.. The 2332 cc. is a brand new, fully balanced motor with top quality components from CB Performance and built by Pat Downs Performance.Rated at 145 hp with the dual Kadron carburetors and 8.2:1 compression ratio this motor pulls strong and crisp. I would be happy to provide more technical data on the engine build for those who need it. This one has just 3180 miles on it and drives out beautifully. Transmission is a 3:44 Ring and Pinion for easy highway cruising. This combination provides excellent torque and acceleration in 1st-3rd and also allows easy highway cruising at 75 mph. Vintage 190 Polished Aluminum 5 lug 5x205mm 4 wheel disc brakes stop this Speedster precisely with ease. Other features include electronic ignition, external 72pass oil cooler with electric fan thermostatically controlled. Great vintage tone from the dual tip exhaust. The undercarriage is also nicely detailed and floorpan protected with a bed liner material to ensure it lasts the test of time. Make sure you watch the video to hear this car start up and running.
