For Sale: 1965 Chevrolet Corvette in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

Only 771 Fuelies were produced in 1965 total! Twice as many roadsters were made versus the more desirable coupes, meaning there were an estimated 260 Fuelie coupes made. It was the last year for fuel injection until 1982. #s and codes match throughout. This 65 Corvette went through a concourse nut and bolt restoration. Arguably one of the nicest in existence!

EXTERIOR: Watch out for this silver bullet! The fit and finish is better than when it originally left the factory. The body is straight, and all the gaps are spot on. The doors even shut like new, headlights open properly. The paint is finished in factory Silver Pearl and has a deep wet gloss to it. All the glass is crystal clear and replaced, and all the chrome and stainless trim sparkles like new! It is extra good looking with Coker Classic radial goldline tires and knock off wheels. The side pipes are the icing on the cake. They look great but the sound created with this motor and those pipes will get anyone's attention. Factory power antenna provides better reception for the AM/FM radio as well as making it a sleeker design.

INTERIOR: The interior is stunning, and smells like a fresh restoration. Absolutely mint! The door panels are new as well as all the stainless and chrome trim and handles. The dash has been beautifully restored to look like new. The 6500 redline tach is specific to the Fuelie, as well as the 80lb oil pressure gauge. The clock is functional in the center as well as the restored original radio. The seats have been recushioned and reupholstered. The carpet is new and fits precisely front to back. The headliner has been replaced. Sitting in the interior makes you feel like you're in a fresh car.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Under the hood you'll find the 327ci 375HP fuel injected engine. Back in its time that was a crazy amount of power for a small block, more hp than cubic inches! It is a high revving, solid lifter motor. All the components appear to be correct to factory specs. That Fuelie unit is a good looking piece of machinery and it is connected to a correct air filter system. Looking through the engine bay everything looks correct down to the factory replicated markings. It even has a correct Delco battery, deep pulleys, clamps, ignition shielding etc. One glance in the bay and you can tell someone went above and beyond to replicate originality.

UNDERSIDE: Underneath looks immaculate! It's like looking up at a brand new car. The front and rear independent suspension was completely rebuilt and detailed. First year for 4 wheel disc brakes, the entire system is new down to the clips and e-brake assembly. Looking up at the motor, it's spotless. Correct fuel pump, starter and canister oil filter. Vin # matching Muncie 4-speed transmission. The rear end is 4.11 Posi-traction rear end properly dated and coded. The fiberglass floors and spare tire carrier are pristine. It is detailed like brand new, it's fresh, not even dusty!

Service: During our shop inspection, we adjusted the shift linkage, replaced the speedometer gear, adjusted and installed new parking brake shoes, and performed an alignment to ensure the car drives true and straight down the road.

10,000 Fuelies were made in 1963, this is much rarer than a split window Fuelie! This is one of the best restored Corvettes you will find anywhere. I should have priced way higher; the day it sells I know I will regret it. Worthy of any collection!
