2007 Jaguar XJ8 "Vanden Plas" Sedan for sale by owner
I love lushness and style of this car but I am selling because living on Salt Lake City hill during winter snow needs AWD. This is a third generation XJ sedan that debuted in 2003. It was Jaguar's first all aluminum unit-body, which made it light for the class (about 3800 pounds) and structurally stronger than previous generations. The Vanden Plas was the Premium trim level. This model included all XJ8 standard equipment and options and added an even more luxuriously trimmed cabin featuring Connolly Autolux leather (smooth finish), a combination wood and leather steering wheel, lambswool footwell rugs and chrome exterior trim. Burled Elm writing trays foldout from the front seatbacks, so rear seat passengers can either write letters or place their Gray Poupon.
Powertrain
4.2 liter DOHC 32Valve V8 engine rated at 294 HP and 303 lb-ft of torque. The fuel injected engine starts from cold without hesitation, runs silent with no smoke and there are no leaks or weeps. Photo shows a clean detailed engine compartment. The six speed automatic transmission has recently been flushed with a new filter and pan installed. The J-Gate shifter allows manual gear changes. The combination of light chassis and abundant HP permits G force acceleration!
Exterior
The garage kept original Indigo Blue Metallic paint is in excellent condition with only a few minor scratches. The power glass sunroof functions as designed and the drain channels were recently cleaned. The glass and windows are in excellent condition. All lights, signals and remote side mirrors extend and retraction function properly. Custom car cover is included.
Interior
The car's carpet and front and rear lambs wool footwell rugs appear "nearly new". The driver's memory power seat works, which includes conveniently positioning the drivers seat for exit and entry. The automatic climate control system (heat & AC) is working and all gauges, power window, mirrors, heated seats, clock and locks work. Two multi function key remotes are included, which are capable of alarm arming, door locking and simultaneously opening/closing all windows and sunroof. The original Alpine stereo system, remote 6 pack CD and 12 speakers work. The rear window electric shade works as designed. The front arm rest cup holder lid clip is broken.
Chassis
The entire front and rear suspension, including the upper control and lower control arms was replaced in 2023, during the conversion from air ride to coil-over shocks. As a result, you no longer have to be concerned with Jaguar's recurrent air-ride component failures. The power-assisted steering tracks straight and has no play or leaks, as evidenced by a clean parking space and undercarriage.
