This great-looking 1968 Camaro may look basically stock at first
glance, but your eye may catch the larger than stock 15" Chevrolet
rally wheels that are only a hint of what is hidden under the SS
hood. The old saying is "there is no substitute for cubic inches",
and this car personifies that idea. Power comes from a big block
454 that has been bored and stroked to 496 cubic inches with an
hydraulic Thumper cam, roller rockers, oval-port heads, headers,
Eldebrock aluminum intake manifold, FiTech electronic fuel
injection system and an aluminum radiator with dual fans to keep
things cool. All these top-of-the-line features add up to this 1968
Camaro producing an awesome estimated 500 horsepower. Power is
transferred to the rear wheels via a 4L60E automatic transmission
with a 2800 rpm stall converter and a 12-bolt, 3.23 posi-traction
rear end. Stopping power is aided by front power disc brakes. The
comfortable OEM black deluxe interior with classic houndstooth
cloth inserts features power windows, working tic-tock-tach with
Speedbox, console gauges, tilt steering column and OEM style
wood-grain steering wheel. Additionally, this classic Camaro is
fitted with a modern retro air conditioning system and an
AM/FM/cassette stereo. Thoughtful touches such as a set of wide 15"
Chevrolet rally wheels wrapped with period reproduction Goodyear
tires, tailpipes tucked up as original and no unnecessary chrome or
accessories under the hood, maintain the original classic look and
feel of this high-quality Camaro.
