Vehicle Description
Welcome to Street Dreams as we celebrate our 25th year in the
classic and muscle car business. This car is part of a private
collection that will be SHOWN BY APPOINTMENT ONLY! The word
legendary is often overused these days, but no other word is as
accurate when discussing a 1969 Chevrolet ZL1 Camaro. Created due
to the success of Jim Hall's Chaparral/Chevrolet aluminum blocks in
the Can Am racing series, the ZL1 was suggested by Chevy dealer
Fred Gibb as a ringer for the upcoming Pro Stock class in NHRA drag
racing. Although prohibitively expensive, the ZL1 (COPO 9560)
became an instant legend and remains so to this day. This
extraordinary 1969 Camaro is a worthy and thunderous tribute to
these iconic beasts. Lurking beneath the correct steel ZL2 cold air
induction hood is one of only 427 GMPP Anniversary Edition 427
all-aluminum engines produced. Manufactured on the same tooling as
the originals (!), these firebreathers are stuffed with goodies
including a forged steel crank and rods, forged aluminum pistons, a
BIG hydraulic roller cam, and aluminum heads sporting enormous
2.19/1.88 intake/exhaust valves. Additional features include power
steering, power 4-wheel disc brakes, air conditioning, a Tremec
5-speed manual transmission, tilt steering, and fresh B.F.G. T/A
Radial tires (235/60R15 F, 245/60R15 R) wrapped around black rally
wheels with chrome caps for a beautifully sinister appearance. We
were fortunate to have previously had both this car and its twin in
inventory and that identical car produced 488 hp and 503 lb-ft of
torque. Truly a worthy tribute. If this top-shelf muscle machine is
your kind of wild, call the Texas Hill Country's premier source for
thunder cars and the team that can make your dream a reality.
Preferred stock in tire company and Get Out of Jail Free card not
included. Street Dreams (830-997-1950) is a full service dealership
