Vehicle Description
As one of the most legendary production cars in the world of
motoring, Jaguar's iconic E-Type hardly needs an introduction.
Automobile enthusiasts and collectors worldwide consider the E-Type
to be one of the most beautiful cars ever produced and one of the
best Grand Touring sports cars of the era. With its robust and
sonorous twin-cam inline-six, sophisticated independent suspension,
and achingly beautiful design, it's easy to see why it is a
cornerstone of our hobby and why everyone from grassroots
enthusiasts to world-class collectors want an E-Type in their
stable. We are pleased to present this gorgeous example of Jaguar's
most iconic sports car, offered here in its most desirable Series 1
4.2-litre Open Two-Seater specification. The Jaguar Heritage Trust
Certificate on file shows a build date of November 16, 1966, and a
dispatch date of December 5, 1966 to Dr. John Moe of Hopkins, MN.
It rolled from the factory gates finished in Opalescent Silver Blue
over a Dark Blue interior, the same livery it wears today. This
Jaguar was treated to a full restoration beginning in 2008 and
completed in 2011, and although done some years ago, the car still
presents as a fresh restoration. The paint and bodywork are
excellent, displaying consistent panel fit and a smooth glossy
finish. Sparkling chrome wire wheels set off the beautiful
Opalescent Silver Blue color. The interior is trimmed in beautiful
dark blue leather, matching carpets, polished wood-rim steering
wheel, and proper factory-style vinyl on the sills and door cards.
Powered comes from a 4.2-litre XK inline-six, with both the engine
block and cylinder head stampings matching factory production
records. Lifting the clamshell bonnet reveals a beautifully
detailed engine bay with plenty of polished alloy and authentic
details and finishes. The undercarriage is authentically detailed,
and while it shows signs of regular use, it is tidy and clean, with
updates including an aluminum radiator and stainless-steel exhaust.
Records on file include restoration summaries and receipts, as well
as the JDHT Heritage Certificate. The popularity of the E-Type is
nearly universal, with great examples found in world-class
collections and occupying space in the average enthusiast's dream
garage. This beautifully finished example is the ideal pick for the
collector seeking a fastidiously, expertly restored E-Type to show
with pride and enjoy to the fullest on rallies, tours, and weekend
motoring adventures. Offers welcome and trades considered For
