Vehicle Description
With its silver exterior contrasted with blackout bumpers and
window trim, this 1969 Chevrolet Nova has a magnetic, aggressive
appearance that's bound to attract plenty of attention. It rolled
off the assembly line at a time when Chevy had just made a thorough
change to its model's identity, transforming it from a
mild-mannered mid-size to a bona fide muscle car. And while it
didn't start life with a powerplant that properly represented that
transformation, it sure has one now, in the form of a
strong-running 350 cubic inch V8 that has been outfitted with a
Demon 4-barrel carburetor and exhales into long tube headers
leading out to a pair of aftermarket mufflers to provide the deep,
resonant exhaust note that it deserves. The notion that this Chevy
classic's emphasis is on performance will be underscored as soon as
you climb inside and take your position behind the Grant steering
wheel. A pair of Procar seats take the place of the original
buckets and, as you glance to your right, you'll see a Hurst
Quarter Stick shifter perched on the transmission tunnel, waiting
for you to grab hold and unleash the power of that very vital
drivetrain. Just above, a trio of aftermarket gauges stand by to
relay vital motoring information. And, when circumstances call for
a prompt stop, there are power disc brakes in place at both ends of
the car to get it done in a hurry.
