A 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Sports Roof. This vehicle was the recipient of a frame-off restoration including a custom PG exterior finish. Power comes from a 351ci Cleveland V8 that produces a dyno-proven 459hp bolted to a Tremec TKO 5-speed manual transmission which shifts power to a Detriot Locker equipped Ford 9-inch differential with 3.70:1 gearing. Features include a 4-point roll cage, custom instrumentation, AM/FM/cassette stereo, air conditioning and power windows, steering and brakes.
As part of the frame-off restoration process, the car was sprayed with a fresh coat of Porsche's Adventure Green sourced from PPG (395/39R/K6). Additionally, the exterior features a custom hood scoop and stainless dual exhaust along with some minor changes from 1969 models including twin 7-inch headlamps in place of the four-headlight grille, the faux rear vents were deleted, and the concave tail panel is replaced with a flat unit while the rear spoiler remained.
BF Goodrich 10-inch wide Radial T/A's are fitted on chrome 5-spoke mag wheels and is along with power brakes which were refreshed this past summer with a racing booster, new front discs and standard rear drums. Performance Suspension Tech components have been fitted on the front end with Easton coil springs while the custom rear end is suspended by leaf springs and CalTrac sub-frame connectors to tie the chassis together. The solid rear axle is a Strange 9-inch unit that has been shortened 4-inches and built with a Detroit locker, 35-spline Moser axles and 3.701 gearing.
The bucket seat interior is upholstered in black leather over black carpeting and matching vinyl door and dash panels outfitted with woodgrain and stainless accents.
Heat and air conditioning are equipped along with an AM/FM/cassette console, Electric Life power windows, trunk-mounted battery box, a fire extinguisher and a padded 3-piece folding 4-point roll cage.
A Dakota Digital dash has been installed including digital readouts for speed, RPM, oil pressure and coolant temperature while additional dials for nitrous and engine vacuum come mounted behind the 5-speed shifter. The aftermarket odometer displays 1,840 miles which is a likely indicator of miles driven since the restoration was completed. Comes with all the restoration process pictures along with folder of receipts as you can see in the pictures.
