1966 Pontiac Lemans convertible with 326 ci engine. Carter AFB
carburetor. Dual exhaust. Automatic transmission. Same owner since
1994. What's good? Really nice paint job less than two years old.
Urethane paint in factory original color. Entire exterior was bead
blasted down to bare metal before it was painted. Interior
reupholstered less than 3 years ago. Heat and sound barrier were
installed before the new carpet. Tires are brand new. All the
gauges and interior lights work. Mechanically: the engine was
rebuilt and has less than 1000 miles on it. At that time all the
belt driven accessories were replaced too. It runs very well. The
points ignition was replaced with a HEI design. The suspension and
brake parts have all been replaced including brake and fuel lines.
A new master cylinder is installed with a dual reservoir design.
Entire brake system is flushed and filled with DOT 5 to avoid line
rust. New radiator and heater core have been installed and all soft
lines - fuel and cooling- have been replaced in the last five
years. New steering box and shocks were installed. ....... what's
bad?: See pic of crack in windshield. See pics of repair to frame -
while functional is not correct. See pics of crazing on some
original chrome. See pics where bead blasting exposed some frame
steel and it needs to be repainted. See pic of trunk floor repair.
The Carter AFB is a correct 750 cfm from 1966 but is from a Buick
so the linkage, although fully functional, is incorrect. As
mentioned earlier neither the clock nor the windshield washer work.
