Vehicle Description
2007 Ford Mustang Roush Drag Pack Coupe
Roush Enterprises is the parent company for Roush Racing as well as
Roush Industries, a freelance engineering firm; Roush Performance,
an automotive aftermarket development company; and ROUSH CleanTech,
a manufacturer of propane autogas fuel systems, all headquartered
in Livonia, Michigan and owned by Jack Roush. His companies employ
more than 2,000 people throughout North America and Europe. Rarely
seen without his trademark Panama hat, Roush is known on the NASCAR
circuit as "The Cat in the Hat".
For consignment, a 2007 version of the collaboration between Jack
Roush Enterprises, (which includes racing team, engineering firm,
and performance parts manufacturer), and Ford Motor Company, in
particular the Mustang. Plans called for only 50 ROUSH Drag Pack
Mustangs to be built, and they were exclusively offered through
Brandon Ford in Tampa, Fla. This car is #15 of a mere 50 produced,
although production numbers vary within a few sources. With a
supercharged, ("Roushcharged") mill, and highly tunable racing
suspension this car comes to our Hallowed Halls with very low title
verified original miles, (10,513), and is a very capable car on the
road but is thoroughly ready for the track. Coming with its never
used Roush Drag wheels and Mickey Thompson drag slicks and trunk
mounted Roush tool kit this car is definitelycollector grade. Go
Speed Racer, GO!
Exterior
Very deep Black paint with little to no faults are seen on this
laser straight paneled car which minds its gaps better than a
grandchild minds it's manners at Christmas dinner at their
grandma's house. Silver Drac Pack decals are attached to the rocker
panels and provide a nice contrasting highlight. An aggressive
neoprene front bumper leads the way with outboard headlamps and
large fog lights within the black honeycomb grille. This muscular
front leads back to a long slightly raised hood with a retro-styled
scoop carrying silver Roushcharged decals. As a throwback tribute
to the fastback Mustangs of yore, a triangular louvered panel
mimics the roofline of the fastback on this newer model. A low
angle spoiler is atop the rear deck and 18-inch polished Roush
wheels are on all 4 corners. For those hot laps at the drag strip,
a pair of Roush 5-spoke polished drag wheels and never used Mickey
Thompson slicks are included. A wonderful exterior concerto ending
in a crescendo of dual vertical triple brake lights and dual chrome
exhaust tips.
Interior
A veritable black scale of tones works together to complete the
monochromatic artwork we will call the passenger compartment. A
tasteful mixture of various tactile materials from vinyl to plastic
to cloth, and chrome with the electronics starting in the form of 2
front buckets in These seats up front, with the driver's being
powered, are backed by a similar 2+2 high back bucket/bench. Smooth
dark charcoal cloth makes up the bolsters and printed galloping
pony alternating charcoal and gray inserts give that "just right
look". Also noted on the adjustable headrests so you can get things
just right for your trip down the 1/4 mile. A center console houses
the Roush shifter and a storage compartment. The instrument cluster
complete with white faced round deep set gauges and green LCD
readouts on the ODO and Shaker 500 AM/FM/6 CD stereo plays the high
tech card early on in the high tech game. The essential Jack Roush
signature is seen on the passenger's airbag cover. Clean black
carpet is reserved for the floors, and a tight headliner is seen
above the menagerie. Other unique elements of the ROUSH Drag Pack
Mustang include having the battery relocated to the trunk for
better weight distribution, and the inclusion of an external on/off
switch, and a silver faced Roush tachometer with shift light
mounted to the dash along with a brake pressure gauge for the Roush
line-lock.
Drivetrain
The money shot if you will, a flip of the hood and we shake hands
with a 4.6 liter 3 valve Roushcharged V8. It has electronic fuel
injection, Roushcharger supercharger and a Tremec 3650 5-speed
manual transmission on the rear. Way back is a beefed up and braced
Ford 8.8-inch 4.10 geared rear axle with a heavy duty TracLoc unit
and polished gears. This powerful V8 puts out a respectable 430
horses, plenty to make you a formidable opponent.
Undercarriage
Obviously, this car was trailered most of its life as there is nary
a drip underneath this vehicle. All components are shiny and bright
including the suspension which is racing ready in the form of
independent coil springs up front, and 3 link with a panhard bar on
the rear. The suspension components are highly adjustable and
include tubular steel upper and lower control arms with adjustable
rod ends, tubular steel panhard rod and relocation bracket, rear
stabilizer bar relocation kit, and single adjustable front struts
and double adjustable rear shocks. Power disc brakes are all around
with 14" rotors up front and dual exhaust with Roush mufflers give
this pony it'sgrowl. Just to emphasize the low mileage, a factory
sticker still adorns the rear axle. Showroom kids, think
showroom.
Drive-Ability
Anytime we have such a low mileage car we tend not to drive it very
much if at all, and with this car we can tell you it started right
up, sounded great, and performed well during our short time behind
the wheel. While we didn't make any quarter mile passes, I can tell
you this car IS fast. You can read all the stats you want online if
you are interested.
A collectible investment grade car with super low miles, all
original and ready for the track or street. Jack Roush is known for
his attention to detail and has won several NASCAR titles with his
teams, and this certainly carried over on this collaboration which
is right here NOW at Classic Auto Mall. Why not treat yourself to
Christmas in July?
