RRare factory big block GTS! Only 1,272 Darts had a 383 stuffed in
them and this is one of them. From a very fussy collector, every
car I get from him is dialed in cosmetically and mechanically.
EXTERIOR: Beautiful! Great colors, no vinyl top and perfect choice
of wheels. The body is amazing on this car. Every inch is laser
beam straight. All the gaps are square and flush. There's no rust
or damage at all. It has the GTS hood with dual bulges. Repainted
it's original B5 blue color. It did not look this good when it was
new! The metal flake is laid out evenly and the clear coat is
polished to a glass finish. The white bumblebee stripe really pops.
The bumpers were rechromed. The emblems and trim all sparkle. New
correct antenna, working fender turn signals. Very good original
blacked out grill and tail panel. The rear glass is new with
correct Mopar logo. Weather strips were replaced. New reproduction
redline tires on painted rims with poverty caps.
INTERIOR: The interior's practically new from carpet to headliner.
Very desirable bucket seats with a factory console and a floor
shift. Door panels, armrests, window cranks are all excellent. The
seats are recushioned and reupholstered. New carpet down on the
floor and embroidered floor mats. The dash area is all restored:
The chrome bezels sparkle, heater control panel looks new, it has a
factory radio delete plate, new glove box liner. Below the dash is
a vintage style set of Stuart Warner gauges. The headliner, visors
and mirror are excellent, dome light works.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Show quality to factory specs. Correct dated
383 big block. All stock intake, air cleaner and valve covers.
Upgraded with headers and a dual feed Holley carb with electric
choke. Every component looks like new. Everything is neatly
installed. Correct hose clamps, radiator cap and a reproduction
Mopar battery. The engine bay is clean metal painted real slick.
The fender tag is attached and the VIN on the core support matches
the car.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted
real slick. Inside the entire compartment is dry, clean metal all
painted B5 blue. It has a new mat and weather strip.
UNDERSIDE: It looks very clean and orderly. The front and rear
suspension looks like it's been gone through. The brakes have been
serviced, e-brake is hooked up. Great sounding dual exhaust with
Flowmaster mufflers and correct tips. The fuel tank and sending
unit have been replaced. The floors and frame rails all appear to
be clean solid metal painted black. Looking up at the motor it
looks very fresh, it has a high torque starter. 727 Torqueflite
automatic trans, drive shaft was rebuilt, 8 3/4 rear end.
SERVICE: We inspected the car and repaired the reverse lights and
replaced the turn signal switch.
This is a rare and beautiful muscle car. 197,700 Darts were made in
1969, most were just economical grocery getters. The general
definition of a muscle car is a little car with a big motor, this
car really exemplifies that statement! Of the 1,272 made, how many
exist and how many look this good?
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to
assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are
answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video
that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an
appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment
there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car,
your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year
membership.
