The 1967 Corvette Stingray is arguably the most sought after and desirable of all of the Corvettes. I tend to agree, but at the same time, I’m a big fan of all of the early Corvettes, as well as the later models. I mean, what’s not to like? America’s sports car has been deeply embedded into our landscape as well as being highly appreciated the world over.
This particular Corvette is really the Corvette that dreams are made of. It’s the Corvette that you imagine yourself cruising the boulevard in, taking a leisurely drive in the countryside leaning into the corners, consuming the bellowing trumpets of triumph also known as “Side Pipes”. Yeah, there’s nothing like rowing through the gears in a big-block Stingray!
As the years go by, like many classic cars, Corvettes have become an investment commodity. Terms like “Originality”, “Numbers Matching”, and “Survivor” are now a part of our hobby. there’s nothing wrong with that. We all appreciate a vintage mode of transportation no matter how primitive, or high-tech your favorite may be.
When the Mid-year Corvette exploded on to the American topography in 1963, the exclusive design cues created by Zora Arkus Duntov have continued to resinate today! That’s a difficult ambition to pull off! Yet, here we are, nearly 60 years later dreaming of a car that many might agree that if you can only have one classic car, that car would be a mid-year Corvette! And, 1967 was the pinnacle year.
The big block convertible you see here is a very fine example of the an American dream, and although I can’t locate any documentation, or history for it, It is still a truly amazing car that anyone would be proud to own.
When you get behind the wheel of a vintage Corvette, you experience a feeling not found in anything else. Peering over the sharp fenders and the stinger hood, hearing the deep growl from the side exhaust as the big 427 barks to life, glancing at the tach as you move through the Muncie 4 speed gearbox. Nope! Nothing like it!
Exclusive, fun, action packed, and rare! Wonderful!!
