Gateway Classic Cars of Charlotte is proud to digitally present
this 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air from the Kyle Busch Motorsports
Collection.1955 was a landmark year for Chevrolet-they were finally
able to provide a bold response to Ford in the performance battle
for the first time in 35 years. Chevrolet's 265 cubic inches
Turbo-Fire V8 was a model of efficiency, and, paired with ambitious
styling, the Bel Air helped Chevrolet keep 44% of the low-price
market segment locked down. The V8 hosted a new 12-volt electrical
system that granted greater generator capacity and more efficient
battery charging. It allowed power windows, door locks, and
windshield wipers, which the previous six-volt electrical system
couldn't bear. America fell in love with the Bel Air, and ads
claimed it to be the "blue-ribbon beauty that's stealing the
thunder from the high-priced cars."It would be impossible to list
everything that has been done to this car, but we will try. The
first thing has got to be the eye-catching Twilight Turquoise and
White paint job. It looks even better in person. Sitting on an
air-ride suspension and aluminum wheels, the stance of this car is
just right. Once under the hood, things get even better. A
fuel-injected LS Corvette engine sits in front of a four-speed
automatic 4L60E transmission. Those ponies work their way back to a
Ford 9-inch Posi rear end before finally spinning those big
aluminum wheels. Inside this car, you are entirely spoiled. The
super comfortable leather interior makes you want never to get out.
All the bells and whistles make you feel like you're driving a
modern car. This Bel Air features air conditioning, powered rack
and pinion steering, power brakes, power windows, upgraded sound
system. This car belongs in your garage. Call us today to make that
happen!
