This was built as a “what if” car with factory experimental parts, some rare options, a modern transmission and a 7 speaker stereo system. Oldsmobile built these aluminum 455 motors in 68 as part of their involvement in Can Am series racing they were never available to the public only given to some of the racers.
The transmission is a Legend Gear 5 speed with a factory dual disc clutch option and the rear end is a factory W27 aluminum differential with 3:23 posi including the cover which holds an extra pint of gear oil.
The Original triple black was built the 3rd week of August 1969 in the Linden New Jersey plant.It received a no expense spared restoration in 2018 and debuted in Chicago at the MCACN show less than 1000 miles since restoration.
