Vehicle Description
Vibrant paint, big block V8 power, and overdrive transmission make
this 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS tribute the kind of coupe that
is instantly attractive for both its style and substance.
Green is the kind of color that absolutely represents the earthy
tones that were popular in this era, and at the same time, there's
extra radiance from all that metallic that tells you this is a
modern and custom application. The panels are straight to give this
a crisp appearance. There's even attractive brightwork where the
chrome bumpers and trim complement the shine of the paint. The
overall impression is that this one knows how to impress while also
making sure you know it's made to be driven. Those dual black
racing stripes were painted on top to look stylish against the
green while also adding some speedy flair. Plus, details like the
tach on the hood, hood pins, blackout rear panel, proper SS
badging, and wide dual exhaust tips are some nice hints about the
performance within. And the iconic set of Rally wheels with larger
rear tires is the perfect addition. It gives you the right muscle
car stance, and at the same time, it adds to the coupe's shining
attitude.
We always love it when the exterior accent color matches the
interior - it's another sign of a thoughtful classic. All the
fundamentals of this black interior have a clean and deep dark
look, including the headliner, door panels, dash, and seats. But
what might just impress you the most are the vintage details. The
wood-like trim on the dash presents particularly well, and the dome
light greets you when the door opens. There are even the right
vintage features on display like the Delco AM/FM radio and factory
air conditioning (they will need servicing if you want to return
the function.) Plus, there's a terrific driver's car feeling with
front bucket seats, a center console with a horseshoe shifter, an
upgraded wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, and a clear round
gauge cluster.
Under the hood is a 454 cubic-inch V8. It has been restored to have
a stock appearance with a tidy look, bold block, air grabber with
callout, and a Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor. And the nice
rumble from the dual exhaust makes sure you get to enjoy the tune
of this big block Chevy. The transmission has been upgraded to a
700R4 four-speed unit. It's stout enough to handle big block muscle
while also delivering overdrive comfort. The undercarriage has
quite a fresh look, which is why this one confidently gets you down
the road. Add in power steering, power brakes, front discs, and BF
Goodrich T/As, and you have an all-around good driver.
This is a powerful, distinct, and all-around desirable SS tribute.
