This 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle was born a true V8 Malibu convertible.
So it's great to see much of that original spirit of a
numbers-matching car mixed with the right upgrades - like an
overdrive transmission - to deliver a total package that makes for
a cool cruising drop-top.
This was an awesome year for the Chevelle. The styling is best
described as crisp where each fender came to a well-defined point
front and rear. Plus, there were nicely creased lines running the
full length of the car. And you can see that so well today because
this is a well-respected premium Malibu. This wears its
factory-correct Bolero Red with a shiny distinction that comes from
a later quality respray. But the vintage-style trim and distinct
white vinyl roof are about giving this a classic sense of dignity.
So this isn't trying to be a raucous Super Sport tribute, but we
like that it does remember to keep the right V8 cruiser attitude
with Rally wheels and a dual exhaust. And so that's why you'll see
with this whole car. It's a touch of premium and a touch of fun
that makes for a great classic cruiser.
While we like the look of the white roof, it folds back to reveal
an especially attractive black interior. After all, black against
red and bucket seats are part of that driver's car attitude we all
love. But the detailed stitching and trim of the upholstery are
there to again remind you this is more all-around cruiser than an
SS bruiser. It's even nicely detailed, including working courtesy
lights, wood-like dash trim, and a color-match convertible boot.
You may choose to update stock features like the AM radio and air
conditioning to restore the full function from these features, but
we also just like seeing them looking stock in this classic. And
details like the stock/grippy seeing wheel, classic-style auxiliary
readouts, and a dash as long as the horizon are all part of the
driver-ready attitude.
Under the hood is a 327 cubic-inch V8. It has a very stock-looking
style for a very good reason: this is the numbers-matching motor.
The V8 fires up nicely as it inhales deeply with the four-barrel
carburetor. and the dual exhaust has the right mufflers to give it
a quietly dignified tune. There's a smooth feeling to this
drop-top, and that's also thanks to more recent investment in the
front suspension that includes the shocks, springs, and upper ball
joints. It has a good cruiser feeling with power steering, power
brakes, and front discs. Plus, the transmission was upgraded to a
700R4 four-speed automatic unit that gives you highway-friendly
overdrive.
The sale comes complete with the original warranty card, the
owner's manual, title documentation, and maintenance records. This
is a Malibu convertible done with the right true cruiser style. So
you don't want to miss out. Call today!!!
