For sale is a 1933 Chevrolet 4-door sedan, which went thru a complete ground-up fabrication ending in mid 1995. The work was performed by Russ Tinsley of Pickens, SC. Work began with a purchase of a complete Fat Man stage III chassis, including coil over shocks front and rear, GM disk brakes, Ford rear, 4-bar links, and sway bars front and rear. Added, was a 5.0L Street & Performance equipped V8, a 700R4 automatic, and a Corvette power master cylinder.
The body was stripped of all wood, which was replaced with steel framing. Remote door openers replaced the original door handles, and invisible door hinges were fitted to create a smooth look. A 4-piece Rootlieb hood was fitted to cover the engine. Latches have recently been fabricated so that we can cruise with or without the hood side panels. Fenders, running boards, grille shell, and lower rear panels were replaced with fiberglass replicas.
The interior was updated with reclining front bucket seats, and a raised rear bench seat. Under the rear seat is a 450 watt amplifier with filters for the stereo system. Behind the rear seat is a 10” sub woofer, and a 10 disk CD changer. The car has a total of 7 speakers. The overhead console, up front, houses the Stereo receiver, tape player, and front dome light. A new floor mounted center console was created with fiberglass, and has the controls for the power windows, Vintage air, lights, wipers, 12v auxiliary connection. Switches for green led engine lights, green neon frame lights, electric fan, power antenna, and a spare were also added. To complete the interior modifications are power windows, Hurst floor shifter, cruise control, and a Vintage air unit. The interior is wrapped in gray tweed upholstery. The seat are covered with two tone vinyl.
I am the 3rd owner since this car was completed. I purchased the car in March of 2004, with 9,804 miles showing. In the 6 years of ownership, we have enjoyed another 15,227 miles of pleasurable motoring. During this time, it has been shown multiple times, collecting 54 awards, including two Best of Show, 8-1st place, 7-2nd place, and has been featured in newspapers and manufacturer’s product catalogs.
