1948 Chevy Fleetmaster Cabriolet
Finished in impressively beautiful black, over gray upholstery and embellished with wonderfully and accurately restored garnish molding of rich wood-grain. The 1948 Cabriolet was the ultimate Chevrolet with tasteful and graceful styling and was selected as the pace car for the Indy 500 . Restoration includes new and or restored components of the Hydro-Lectric Folding Top including top grade German fabric, new correct color coated wiring harness-large six volt gauge wires. New rubber throughout car. Complete rebuilding of front end, engine, transmission, rear end, etc. etc.. Hundreds of hours of superb skill was utilized in restoring the All Steel rust free body. One can readily see the results of the meticulous detail in the painted finish. The car shows little wear for the 6968 miles of Car Show activity since restoration. The State of Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles modified this number to the current listed VIN to accommodate their data entry requirements. This 1954 engine has been completely rebuilt with new crank, balanced pistons, 3 4 cam with a .420 lift, hardened no-lead valves and seats, Fenton Cast Iron Headers with silver Jet Hot Coating, Offenhauser Dual Intake Manifold with silver Jet Hot coating, Mallory Electronic Distributor Ignition, the Wayne Set including polished aluminum Rocker Cover-Side Cover-Steel Kit and Chevy Bow Tie Breather, Twin Chrome Air Cleaners, polished finned aluminum Beehive Oil Filter with Chrome Mounting Brackets, Chrome Alternator and Bracket.
