PRICE JUST REDUCED!! Dubbed by some as the Bentley factory hotrod, and by Motor Trend as “the baddest luxury car ever created”, this is a car capable of reaching 170 mph and yet coming to a full stop from 100 mph in under 5 seconds!
This Continental T is finished in Bentley’s British Racing Green with a tan leather interior, making for one of the most beautiful of the Bentley color combinations. Upon entering this 2+2’s cockpit, it’s easy to see why this car had an original MSRP in excess of $325,000. The seats are soft and supple, yet providing the support a driver needs in a performance car. There is comfortable seating for four adults, with plenty of leg room in the rear compartment. In addition to beautiful woodwork—a hallmark of Bentleys—this car has the highly desirable machine-turned stainless dash fascia which when combined with the large red starting button harkens back to the Bentleys of the ‘30s.
Of course having 5400 pounds of luxury car would mean little to the driving enthusiast if the Continental T didn’t have the performance to match. But performance is what these cars are all about. They are capable of accelerating to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds and traveling the quarter mile in 14.5 seconds and 98 mph. This is achieved through a 6.75 liter OHV V-8 that is rated at 650 pound-feet of torque at 2200 rpm—more torque than any other production car or truck made in 1997, period! And yet despite these performance characteristics, this is a quiet luxury car that is at home around town or on a Sunday drive.
Safety along with performance has been an important Bentley tradition and the Continental T is no exception. Fully equipped with dual airbags, the passengers are surrounded by 2 ½ tons of metal and leather. Of particular note are the brakes on this motorcar, capable of bringing it to a full stop in a mere 127 feet from 60 mph— a number many performance sports cars wish they could match—thanks to twin calipers on the huge front brakes.
This Bentley is in wonderful condition, having traveled only 25,000 miles since new. The car has been regularly maintained, and was just serviced at the Bentley dealership in early February. The brakes were serviced less than 50 miles ago, and this Bentley has a virtually new set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Z-rated tires. As would be expected, the car has received only the highest level of care that befits a Continental T.
Style, comfort, high performance and total luxury are what this car is all about, and it succeeds wonderfully in delivering on all counts. One might find as much luxury in another, higher priced car or this type of exhilarating performance in one of the super exotics, but nowhere will you find this combination coming together in one of the most beautiful Bentleys ever made.
