Account Questions:
  1. How do I sign up?
    Simply click the “Sign Up” link at the top right of every page on our site. Signing up is fast, free, and takes literally seconds.
  2. What benefits will I get as a member?
    As a ClassicCars.com member, you’ll be able to list vehicles, contact private sellers, receive our newsletter, and participate in special members-only contests and promotions. Keep an eye on your inbox for more information about these special members-only items.
  3. I lost my password. Can you help me log in?
    When you signed up as a member, you created a “secret question” that you could use to recover your password in case you forgot it. To recover your password, click the “Forgot your password?” link on the Member Login page.
Listing Questions:
  1. How long before my listing is available online?
    Your listing is available for your private review immediately after you complete your purchase. However, your listing must be approved by a Customer Care representative before it appears in search results. Typically, approval happens within one business day.
  2. I’m not a member. Can I list my vehicle?
    Of course! You can sign up as a member at the same time you create your vehicle listing.
  3. How long does it take to create a vehicle listing?
    That depends on how well prepared you are and how much detail you want to mention in your listing. If you’re pressed for time, you can create your listing without a description and without photos for now, then go back and enhance your listing later.
  4. What size and format should my photographs be?
    Your photos should be in JPEG (.jpg), PNG (.png), or GIF (.gif) format, and should be no larger than 4 megabytes each. Please note that your photos may be automatically resized for optimum viewing with a Web browser if they are very large.
  5. Will you sell my car for me?
    While ClassicCars.com is the ideal marketplace to list your vehicle for sale, we are not a consignment house. We don’t actually sell your vehicle. Rather, we allow you to easily create an attractive, informative listing and let prospective buyers from coast to coast browse and search for your vehicle.
  6. What is my car worth?
    Consult the price guide to determine your vehicle’s approximate market value. Be aware, however, that any price guide is merely a guideline and that your vehicle’s true value depends on a large number of factors, such as its age, condition, maintenance record, provenance, rarity, and other desirability factors.
  7. I’d like to change something in my listing. How can I do that?
    Simply log in to your account and click the “Edit” link for your listing on the My Listings page. You can edit your description, vehicle details, photos—anything except the vehicle’s year, make, and model.
  8. Why am I not allowed to change my vehicle’s year, make, or model?
    Once approved, your listing’s year, make, and model fields are locked. ClassicCars.com listings are intended for the sale of a single vehicle. If you have inadvertently entered the wrong year, make, or model, contact Customer Care for assistance.
Billing Questions:
  1. Is my listing really good until my car sells?
    Yes! Fortunately, though, most sellers have great success selling their vehicles on ClassicCars.com. Of course, we may decide to cancel your listing on your behalf if we feel you have abandoned your listing (for example, if you haven’t logged in to your account in over 6 months or if you don’t answer repeated attempts to contact you).
Safe-n-Secure™ Questions:
  1. Someone contacted me about my listing, but I think it may be a scam. What should I do?
    If you suspect that you have been contacted by someone who may be a scammer, use the Contact Us page to report your concern. A Customer Care representative will be assigned to your case and will follow up with you shortly. We may ask for copies of emails and other details of your communications with the other party.
  2. I got a message from someone stating that he/she is a Verified ClassicCars.com Seller or Buyer. How can I be sure?
    ClassicCars.com does not verify or certify any buyer or seller. If you receive a message from anyone claiming to be somehow certified by us, please report this activity as soon as possible.
  3. I received a call from someone claiming to be from ClassicCars.com asking to verify my credit card number. Is this a scam?
    Genuine ClassicCars.com employees will never contact you via telephone or email asking you for your complete credit card number. We may, however, contact you to verify your purchase as part of our anti-fraud screening process. If you are contacted by someone purporting to be an employee of ours asking for your complete credit card number, please report this activity as soon as possible.

  2. Is there a showroom at your office?
    No, our “showroom,” as it were, is ClassicCars.com!
  3. My question doesn’t appear here.
