The 2013 Kiawah Island Motoring Retreat will take place on the 18th Hole of the River Course at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort. This year's event will have more cars, more action and more reasons than ever to make a weekend of it. The supercharged Kiawah Island Motoring Retreat has expanded to a three-day event (Friday, November 15 to Sunday, November 17) with 50 Concours-quality cars, 75+ classic cars and boasts a broader schedule of events everyone can enjoy.
Attendees will experience the picturesque Lowcountry landscapes of Kiawah Island- host of the 2012 PGA Championship- from the River Course and enjoy iconic views of savanna marshes from the Club House. Perfect for a weekend getaway, the expanded list of activities includes a valuation seminar, a gala, the main event and a road tour and brunch.
Below is the schedule for this year's Motoring Retreat:
-Valuation Seminar (Nov. 15): Featured speaker, Dave Kinney, will discuss the current status of classic car valuation and resale in today's collectable market. This event will take place from 2-4 p.m. at Kiawah's Oceanfront Sandcastle Community Center. Tickets are $20 per person and space is limited.
-Gala (Nov. 15): Formally kick-off the 2013 Concours with a classic car preview, live music, cocktails, dinner and a silent auction at the Kiawah Island Club's River Course from 6-8:30 p.m. Tickets are $100 per person.
-Main Event (Nov. 16): This year's main event will take place from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on along the fairway, where a star-studded panel of judges (Dave Olimpi, Mike Tilson, Ford Heacock, Phil Neff, Timothy McNair, Ralf Berthiez and more) will score the Concours-quality cars.
A wide variety of classic, collectable, exotic, antique and special interest cars will be showcased and vendors will have food and drink available for purchase.
Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the event. A VIP package is available for $65, and includes lunch, beverages and access to the Club House.
-Sea Island Road Tour (Nov. 17): Wrap-up the weekend with a Road Tour around the Sea Islands from 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m., and enjoy the beautiful vistas of the coastal landscapes along the way. The family friendly Tour is open to vehicles of all kinds (not just classics and collectables) and will feature a route with clues and will be followed by Brunch. Tickets are $75 for car and driver, and $35 per navigator.
