K-Daddyz K-Daddyz Kustoms hot-rods Hyundais
At first glance, you may think you're seeing an expensive European sports sedan, but then you realize that this is exotic-looking vehicle is a Hyundai Azera that has undergone some very special customization.

The Azera was Hyundai's flagship sedan. Introduced as an all-new model for 2006, the Azera won awards from the likes of J.D. Power and Associates and Auto Pacific as the most appealing large car and best-in-class against competition that included the likes of many of those much more prestigious European luxury sedans.

With its 263-horsepower, 3.8-liter V6, a full array of safety features and luxury car accoutrements and a long-term warranty coverage, the Azera provides a lot for its mid-to-upper $20,000 price point. It also provides a clean yet stylish canvas for customization, which is what Kyle Gann did at his K-Daddyz Kustomz shop in Bakersfield, Calif.

Gann has been customizing cars for nearly 20 years, and for the last few years has prepared a series of Hyundai show cars, vehicles, notes Hyundai product planner Michael Deitz, that allow automakers to gather good feedback when they are displayed at various auto shows or are used in focus group research.

Gann's 2007 Azera features shaved door handles, a custom front grille and unique air vents in the front quarterpanels, as well as special Streetbeat Ragtop sunroof.

A Universal Air Suspension air ride suspension system allows the car to not only ride on air, but to be lowered on its 20-inch Konig Rolf Blix wheels and Dunlop Sport Maxx tires.

Inside, the car has four eight-inch video monitors, an Infinity Audio system with assorted woofers and amps all set into custom fiberglass enclosures, and two-tone leather seating.

Getting inside the Azera is enhanced by the installation of suicide rear door hinges, which give the car an almost limo-like curb appeal.

Setting off all the changes is a DuPont Hot Hues paint job featuring Black over Raging Raspberry with some Sandstorm trim.
