1953 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 Door Sedan
The results for the 1953 Chevy was indeed new! As they were the most changed Chevy's since 1949. Stylist Carl Renner dressed up the early 1950s bodies with fresh sheet metal and revised C-pillar window design while divided windshields gave way to one piece glass.
The 1953 Chevrolet was bold and loaded with chrome. The grille featured a horizontal chrome bar with three vertical bullets and circular parking and turn signal light housings at each end. The grille was framed by a hood bar of die-cast chrome on top and a strong rounded chrome bumper along the lower edge. The hood bird, head light bezel and Chevy crest was made of even more chrome.

1953 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe
Out back on the 1953 Chevrolet chrome bumper and bumper guards matched the front bumper, taillights had a new interesting look and the rear Chevy crest matched the front. These 1953 Chevy's were entirely new through and through with more advanced features than any other Chevrolet in history.
Dealers introduced the 1953 Chevrolets on January 9th of 1953. It's going to be a great year to buy a 1953 Chevy! said an advertisement in the January 3, 1953 issue of The Saturday Evening Post. 17 models were produced, the most ever offered by Chevrolet. A total of 1,477,287 1953 Chevrolets were sold. All this reflected the presence of new chief engineer Ed Cole, where he teamed with Harry F. Barr to build the 1953 Chevrolet, then the 1954 Chevrolet.
