For Sale: 1959 Chevrolet Impala in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

What a beauty! 59 Impalas are hot and looking at this one I see why! This is a body off frame restored car to factory condition with a few upgrades. That's not air ride, it is a high quality hydraulic system. You can easily put it to stock height and then slam it down if you want to look cool. We brought this car back all the way from Sweden! It's that special.

EXTERIOR: This car speaks for itself, I don't need to sit here and tell you how beautiful it is. The Snowcrest white is polished beautifully but it's the harbor blue that really makes it pop. It's decked out too: it has a continental kit, fender skirts with some extra decorations, door handle guards, dual antenna, bumper guards, and some really cool mirrors I've never seen before. All the chrome and trim are straight and shiny. The white convertible power top was restored including gloss black painted frame work. Of course, with the hydraulics you can easily set the height where you like it. It's rolling on blue painted rims with spinner hubcaps and radial white wall tires. Duh, I forgot about the tailfins and cat's eyes taillights, how cool are they!

INTERIOR: The interior was completely restored to factory condition. The multi color seats even have some chrome accents. The door panels are so cool I could display them on my office wall like art. The blue and black speckled carpet was replaced and there's a set of reproduction floor mats. The steering wheel and dash area is all restored. It has a retro stereo in the factory hole. I should mention it has a rare power seat too.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It was completely restored in here! It has a correct 283 V8 with all stock components - manifolds, carb with glass fuel bowl, valve covers and air cleaner. The generator was upgraded with an alternator. It features factory power steering and brakes. Everything looks proper: wires are run neatly, battery is secured, horns are hooked up etc. All the metal surfaces are painted real nicely.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It's huge! All clean metal painted blue. It's home to the hydraulic system with its own battery. There's also a spare tire. Peaking at the power top pump, it looks fresh too.

UNDERSIDE: It was body off frame restored to like new condition. The suspension and steering was completely rebuilt. A high quality hydraulic system was installed so you can adjust the ride height with a switch under the dash. The factory drum brake system was completely rebuilt, e-brake is hooked up. The dual exhaust is neatly run and has glass pack mufflers for that classic sound. The fuel system was replaced. Looking up at the motor you will see clean Chevy orange along with correct canister oil filter, starter, and fuel pump. The 2 speed trans was upgraded to a 700R-4 with an overdrive for easy cruising. The rear end is the original dated 1959 with 3.36 gears. The chassis components, frame and floors are clean, smooth metal painted satin black. It's very clean and proper under this car!

SERVICE: After our thorough inspection we fixed the reverse lights, calibrated the speedometer, tightened the visors, repaired the fuel gauge and interior lights and serviced the hydraulic system.

If you want to be the show stopper, this is the car that will do it for you! I'm in the business and I never see a 59 convertible, this is a rare opportunity to buy such a beautiful car. Look at our main picture, isn't that just to die for!

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year membership.
