This 1928 Graham Brothers truck is a partially refurbished project that saw work begin under previous ownership before the project stalled due to the owner’s passing. The truck features a red cab with a black hood and fenders. It retains a 212ci inline-four and three-speed manual transmission as well as four-wheel drum brakes, 20″ multi-piece wheels, a Boyce MotoMeter radiator cap, a wood rear bulkhead, a black vinyl bench seat, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. This Graham Brothers truck project is now offered with spare parts, mountains of research, photos, and documentation, a Weaver three-ton winch, and a clean California title.
Graham Brothers partnered with Dodge Brothers in 1921, using Dodge powertrains in their truck models and selling them through the Dodge dealer network. Dodge purchased Graham’s truck division in 1926, and following its purchase by Chrysler in 1928, the Graham Brothers name was phased out, eventually being replaced by Dodge-branded trucks in 1930. This example was repainted red with a black hood and fenders under previous ownership. Equipment includes a Boyce MotoMeter radiator cap, brass headlight bezels, a six-window cab, a tilting windshield, and a black front bumper, radiator surround, hood, headlight buckets, and running boards. The truck is not fitted with a roof, and spare wood planks are included in the sale. Paint loss on the front bumper can be seen in the gallery.
The 20″ multi-piece wheels are mounted with Firestone bias-ply tires that were installed in 2012. A matching spare wheel and tire are stowed beneath the rear chassis. The truck features solid axles with semi-elliptical leaf springs and retains drum brakes at all four corners. The cabin features a bench seat trimmed in black vinyl along with color-matched door panels and floorboards. The four-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts a painted steel dash housing a barrel-type speedometer, an ammeter, and an oil pressure gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 26k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 212ci Dodge “Fast Four” inline-four is finished in green and features five main bearings as well as a Stewart single-barrel carburetor. The truck is titled by its engine number, 1056898. A three-speed manual transmission is retained along with a Graham Brothers-branded differential cover. A Weaver three-ton winch is included in the sale along with a collection of spare parts.
