For Sale: 1995 Chevrolet Camaro in Morgantown, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

1995 Chevrolet Camaro Z28

The Z28 code was the RPO code they used when the 67 Camaro was to be ordered with an engine that met the specs of the SCCA Racing. That engine had to have less than 305 Cubic Inches. So, Chevy took a 327 block, installed a 283 crank, and got a 302. This was used for both the 67 and 68 model years.

For consignment and kicking some seriousass in our Hallowed Halls, this 1995 Z28 coupe, which is a higher mileage example, (106,000 actual miles on the title, but with aftermarket gauges the true miles are now unknown), and an unassuming looking skate. It has aftermarket Cray wheels, the original interior, and a seriouslybig horsepower supercharged crate engine under the hood. A 4-speed automatic, 6.2 liter LSA crate engine, and fuel injection, all bathed in Medium Teal Blue Metallic. GO baby GO!

Exterior
From tip to toe, top to bottom, and everywhere in between, we see Medium Teal Blue Metallic and while it is showing its age the color still remains deep and pleasing to the eye. Various areas of clear coat degradationare noted throughout the body and on the lowers we see a few paint runs along with road rash and some scuffs. Integrated bumpers, body matching, front and rear melt into the steel body panels which remain fairly straight with well minded gaps. A few strategically placed pieces of black trim are seen throughout and add just a bit of downplay to the Teal Blue. Fog lights are upfront to light the way. On top, a dual paneled smoked glass removable "T" style top offers you some room to open the cabin up for some fresh air. Just behind the B pillar is a curved greenhouse glass enclosure for the rear passengers, as well as any of their gear to store in the back. On the back the curvaceous spoiler runs the width of the arched rear, and large tail lights peek out from underneath. 17-inch Cray wheels are on all 4 corners and are wrapped in 275/40ZR17 Nitto NT555's from the 19th week of 2013.

Interior
Graphite leather covers all the seating surfaces which present with high back buckets upfront, and a small rear 2 plus 2 bench. These present with some age wear on the bolsters as well as some wrinkling and staining in various areas and large notable tears areseen at the tops of the fold down rear seats. The door panels that cozy up to the seats are of the same pattern and usage of leather and when the doors are closed you are in ready to go mode. We see power windows, power locks as well as a Delco-Loc II AM/FM/CD stereo. Graphite carpet floods the floors, and the dash has been updated with a 3-some of black facedgold trimmed gauges from Speedhut. Racing between the seats is an undulating console that holds the shifter along with a small storage bin and a single cup holder. A quick glance upward gives us a view of the fairly tight graphite broadcloth headliner along with the remnants of the T-top shades that have lost their coverings.

Drivetrain
Here's where things get interesting. Stuffed into the engine bay is a 6.2 liter LSA V8 crate engine that came to this car from GM and puts out a tire frying 550hp thanks in part to the supercharger and EFI bolted on top. A 4L85E 4-speed automatic transmission with a 2,400-2,800 rpm stall converter is on back. This potent combination pushes power rearward to a performance optioned consignor statedMoser built 3.73 geared 12 bolt rear axle.

Undercarriage
Showing some of its age and mileage, a peppering of surface rust coats the suspension and driveshaft/differential. The floor pans have a nice black coating on them and in the areas where the coating has chipped off we see the factory paint overspray on the rust free steel. This car has independent coil spring front suspension that works in conjunction with a torque arm and coil spring rear suspension. We note the addition of tubular lower control arms on the rear axle as well as subframe connectors and a central chassis brace. Wilwood power disc brakes all around with 6 piston calipers in the front and 4 piston units in the rear. Long tube headers snake their way down to a dual to single to dual exhaust system with a Borla muffler assisting with creating a melodious muscly tune. Heavy seepage is noted coming from the rear axle in various areas and should be investigated in the near future.

Drive-Ability
She fired right up announced her presence with a thunderous roar. As noted, this 550 supercharged crate engine can take you from zero to 60 in a flash with nice solid handling, and quick braking. All functions were in working order for this test drive save for the AC not blowing cold, the radio not belting out my favorite tunes and the rear axle exhibiting a growling rotational noise.

An aero version of the former and current iteration of the Camaro muscle car. Looking very clean with just a few minor areas of wear, but overall mechanically sound. Ready to kick some serious Mustang ass with the LSA crate engine and praised 4L85E transmission. Add in some Wilwood brakes and suspension upgrades and the price is definitely right...Come On Down!
